rebecca gibbs interior design, y'all.

We move back to Abilene this weekend and I'm excited to share with you that my website is up and running! I am so thankful for this opportunity and am very excited for this next step. I have to admit, leaving the wonderful BHD team here in Nashville is a little scary and definitely very sad, I'm going to miss them all for sure. But I also feel very strongly that this move is a step in the right direction for our future and have no doubts that this is where we should be!

Abilene holds a special place in my heart and feels more like home than anywhere else in the world.

I will be providing a wide range of interior design services to the wonderful people that live here.
Check out all the services I will be providing...it's probably more than you thought! :)

My main squeeze, Lucas, will be working for himself as well doing remodels and building custom
homes. We hope to become a dynamic duo and work on many projects together in the future!

There are several other designers in the Abilene area that I thankfully already have friendships with and
I am so looking forward to working together to make Abilene a more beautiful place.

I would absolutely love to help you create a
place of peace and beauty that you can call home.
 Give me a call

and for all you other lovely people...
Come for a visit any time... y'all.

packing up.

While Lucas is finishing his time in Vienna for school, I am busy packing us up! There are definitely mixed emotions. We LOVE Nashville and the wonderful people we have met. We have SO enjoyed our house for the year! I've put most of these on instagram, but here are a few ton of pics from our Nashville home...

My sister helped me paint the chipping orange shutters and door the week we moved in...

a favorite place though the fall and winter...

fall y'all...it's a real thing. Note the car flying by...our house is on a really busy street. Won't miss that :)

homey touches...

Visits from out of town friends and family were seriously the best thing ever this year. We loved having
J. Bryan,
stay with us in our Nashville home!

Christmas time...

Kody knew the best way to celebrate the season was in his red pajamas...

So thankful for new friends...

and sweet big sister who was the winner with a total of FOUR visits in one year!

little sister was the winner for visit from furthest away! All the way from Baghdad!
Such a special treat to have her here!

We cannot believe how quickly this year has flown by! It has been so wonderful and we will always cherish the memories made while we were in this home! We are so excited to be back in Abilene and all that the future holds for us there!

bhd faux sho.

There were several beautiful Showhouses in Nashville this Summer
and we were so inspired we decided to do our own faux showhouse!

Go check out my design for the Beth Haley Design Faux Sho-House media room!

We will be back in Abilene in TWO weeks!! Ahhhh!!
Hopefully I will post more once we are back and settled.

Well hello there, blogosphere.

There has definitely been a lack of blog posts this year, but life has continued on even though it has not been chronicled on this here blog believe it or not. We have had a wonderful time being in Nashville and have meet some fabulous people that we are just crazy about! But the truth is West Texas still feels like home and we will be Abilene bound on August 31st! It is definitely going to be hard to leave this lovely town, but we are definitely excited about what is to come!

We will be moving back into our sweet little casa which we decided not to sell once we were fairly certain we'd be moving back. We were able to find a tenant to live in it for the year and are so thankful that they are keeping it up while we are away. I have certainly missed it and already have plans a-brewin' to completely change how I had it set up before, of course. :)

In other news, I will be starting my own interior design company upon our return to A-town. Ahhhh!

So if you or someone you know is looking to spruce up their Abilene pad, starting this September, I'm your girl! The website will be up and running soon. I will keep you updated!

...and now for some pictures, because no one likes a blog post without pictures...
(I tried to only use pics that I haven't posted on instagram, because NO ONE likes a doubled posted instagram pic! It is seriously disappointing to open up facebook and scroll through all the same pics that I JUST saw on instagram. Am I right? :) So anyways, a few pics from the past few weeks....

I made a pillow! ha! I know not that exciting, but my sewing machine has seen zero action up here in Tennessee so this was an exciting day as we reconnected.

Lucas and I hung some gorgeous reclaimed white oak planks in our friends' master bedroom last weekend. They got it from an old barn that her grandfather had torn down. It is really beautiful! I'd like to say that I helped, but that would be a total lie. I sat and watched and chatted it up with sweet Catherine while our hubby's did the work...

We had a pair of craigslist dressers painted BM Alabaster white and added some modern brass hardware - we will be using them as our bedside tables when we move back. Unfortunately I have become a tiny bit spoiled this year and have waaay more room/closet storage than then two of us could ever fill. I'm going to have to re-learn the beauty of simplicity and organization to fit back in...

I've been spending a lot of time in our backyard just staring up at possibly the most beautiful things in all creation. (Abilene, please grow a few of these in my yard before I get back! I love you just as you are and would never try to change you.)

Work room mess and CAD screen - the glamorous life of a designer
(haha) can I get an amen Kelly?

an Instagram repeat! haha sorry! ;) ;)

I totally want to remember this every day. I am so thankful that we serve perfect Lord and that we are not required to be perfect! (P.S. my knee looks tan because of the super sweet Amaro filter...I've not seen much sun this summer! Need.more.vitamin.D!)

Hope you have a happy week!

I did a post about powder rooms over on the BHD blog today! Go check it out and "like" it so that my work friends think I'm awesome! ;) Hope you all have a lovely weekend! xoxo -becca

ikat,ottomans and memories.

This fun little guy was at Old Time Pottery in East Nashville for like $40.
Such a random place, but he is just too cute! (and budget friendly!)

I think it would be the perfect little ottoman for a nursery

If you follow me on instagram (becca_gibbs)
you probably saw this pic a few weeks ago...

Well...I wasn't painting the entire wall, I was painting this super fun and funky
ikat pattern headboard on the guest bedroom wall to serve as a headboard!
The chalkboard circle at the top is so that I can
monogram the headboard with my guests initials.
This is an easy way to make a space feel
personal and inviting for an overnight guest!

In other news...I'm still trying to come to grips with the
fact that the holidays are over! I've been looking forward to all
the sweet visits from friends and family for so long and
now that it's all over I'm just sad! I need to buck up buttercup
and just be thankful for fun times and memories made!

Have a happy Tuesday, friends!
