gibbgabb: living room.

I haven't shown many pics of our living room on here and I

just added a few new things so I thought I'd snap a few pics and share!

Right next to our front door I put this table with a silver dish for our keys. I

painted a pair of these greek key side tables a couple years ago. I

originally used them in the guest bedroom as a pair,

but right now I am only using this one.

I also recently hot glued some blue grosgrain ribbon to my lamp shades... helps to make a boring lamp a bit more custom

See our loveseat in the background of the above pic? It was a $30 craigslist find that I purchased with plans to slipcover until we could reupholster it. I looked for slipcover that I could live with for a while and eventually decided to simply throw a $15 painters drop cloth over it for a look similar to this with a lower price tag. It has worked GREAT! I wash is once every couple of months...we've had it for a year and it has worn well.

the knotty pine armoire that received a painted makeover after being chewed on by two sweet little pups is still functioning as our tv cabinet. I love being able to close it off when the tv isn't on.

in the above pic you can see some DIY artwork by yours truly and a painted coffee table built by the hubs. I showed him Ethan Allen's 'Cottage Coffee Table' and he just built one for me! So blessed to have such a talented fella!

the above pic is a close up of our sofa. The slim modern shape, large scale blue and white fabric and the diamond pattern rattan on the sides and back all combine to make it one of my favorite things in the room. It is super comfy and with slip covers that zipper off to get washed every few months it is also super practical. Excellent San Antonio craigslist find. :)
